Proceeding contribution from Baroness Sharp of Guildford (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 8 May 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Sale of Student Loans Bill.

Sale of Student Loans Bill

We are also extremely unhappy at the open-ended nature of this amendment. It seems in many senses to give powers to the Secretary of State to do things or not do things more or less as he or she wishes. We are not happy to lob through these provisions.
