Proceeding contribution from Steve Webb (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Monday, 9 June 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill on Climate Change Bill [Lords].

Climate Change Bill [Lords]

We certainly support the principle of the Bill. However, will the Minister give us a categorical assurance that if the Committee on Climate Change concludes in its study that 80 per cent. is the right answer, the Government will accept that advice and be bound by it—or will they just think about it?
