Proceeding contribution from Tim Yeo (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 9 June 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill on Climate Change Bill [Lords].

Climate Change Bill [Lords]

On the question of the impact of the Bill on business, does my hon. Friend agree that one reason for supporting the Bill is that it may accelerate the process through which British companies decarbonise their products? It will quickly give us a competitive advantage if our companies offer low-carbon products and services compared with those produced in other countries. Market instruments and even regulations may therefore be helpful to businesses in this case.
