Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 2 July 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Pensions Bill.
Pensions Bill
I thank the Minister for that explanation. Could he explain how the Secretary of State will satisfy what is an obligation on him—it is not voluntary—under paragraph 2(2) in Schedule 1, which states: "““The Secretary of State and the corporation must also satisfy themselves from time to time that none of the members has a conflict of interest””?" How is he going to do that? Is he going to keep tabs on all the members of the corporation or have investigations carried out on them?
