Proceeding contribution from Earl Attlee (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 20 November 2008. It occurred during Debate on Railways.
Railways
My Lords, I am extremely grateful for that good news. However, the noble Lord introduced the subject of ticketing and I am interested to know his thinking for the future. Will there be some point when we do not need to buy tickets at all and there will be some sort of Oyster card or automatic charging system, whereby there will be no frustrating delays for passengers when they need to buy a ticket for national journeys?
