Emergency Care
Does the Secretary of State agree or disagree with the College of Emergency Medicine when it argues that, for a proportion of patients, distance to an emergency department is a significant risk factor in overall outcomes? Its document published just a month ago says:"““Where the next nearest Emergency Department is more than 20 kilometres away, there is a strong argument for retaining an emergency service.””" Does the Secretary of State agree or disagree with that principle?
