Proceeding contribution from Ed Miliband (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 28 January 2009. It occurred during Opposition day on Heathrow (Third Runway).

Heathrow (Third Runway)

The Conservative party has adopted a number of different positions today. The hon. Gentleman accuses us of being too tough on aviation emissions with the new target that we are setting tonight. The truth is that the Conservatives have been exposed in this debate. They have been exposed for their political opportunism—they saw an opportunity and decided to abandon a position in favour of expansion because they thought that they could get away with it. They cannot; people will see through it and business will see through it.
