Proceeding contribution from Lord Malloch-Brown (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 5 February 2009. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Binyam Mohamed.
Binyam Mohamed
My Lords, I make it clear that while it is certainly within the rights of Mr Binyam Mohamed to seek legal redress for any disadvantage at which he feels that the UK has put him, we are not preventing him meeting his full rights. As I have said, the full dossier of what is relevant has been shared with his US lawyers, so he is not disadvantaged in any way. On the noble Baroness’s point about the Chicago Convention, I confess to her that I shall have to get back to her.
