Proceeding contribution from Peter Bone (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 10 February 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Banking Bill.

Banking Bill (Money)

Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. In conclusion, then, I would say that we are in a difficult position with all these Lords amendments and revisions by the Government, but we are committed to getting the Bill through Parliament as soon as possible. However, we are dealing with an Alice in Wonderland situation, in which the Government can spend vast amounts of money without any reference to Parliament.
