Proceeding contribution from Duke of Montrose (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 16 March 2009. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Marine and Coastal Access Bill [HL].
Marine and Coastal Access Bill [HL]
I understand where the Minister is placed, but he has raised some interesting questions about what the structure of the IFCAs is likely to be. He started off by saying that all local authorities would be represented, but later he said that they would be entitled to sit. One has a vision of the IFCA structure involving huge numbers of people unless they come to some agreement whereby there is joint representation, and that remains to be seen. I am interested to hear that we will get a look at the consultation, but we would like to have seen it sooner than the end of the summer. We hope it will be slightly earlier than that. In the mean time, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 228 withdrawn. Clause 145 agreed. Clause 146 agreed.
