Proceeding contribution from Countess of Mar (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 25 June 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.

Welfare Reform Bill

I remind the noble Baroness of the letter that I read out to the noble Lord, Lord McKenzie, at our previous sitting. Since I read it out, I have had numerous e-mails from people with all sorts of conditions—not just ME—who have been roughly treated by Atos. I am extremely unhappy about it. While I am on my feet, I ask the noble Baroness whether she will arrange for us to have another meeting with Atos to find out exactly what it is up to; we are getting not just one or two but numerous very bad reports about the way in which Atos is treating claimants.
