Child Poverty Bill

I thank the noble Lord for his response. I am also conscious of the time; we have had an enjoyable session. I will make one or two small points. First, on the Minister’s point about the two previous recessions, the difference is very interesting. One of the biggest differences—I do not know how to quantify this in relative terms, but it is critical—is the flexibility that the private sector, in particular, has shown in the levels of part-time working. Interestingly, that flexibility was not supported or financed by the Government in this country but by Europe. That has been remarkable.
