Proceeding contribution from Stephen O'Brien (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 27 January 2010. It occurred during Opposition day on Dementia Services.
Dementia Services
I am grateful to the Chairman of the PAC for that intervention and for the work that he has overseen, as well as to the NAO, which has done that work. In answer to his specific question, I am glad to confirm that we have already said that, should that happy occurrence take place, this matter will be a priority. Part of my argument will be to ask how much, if one is going to state—as the Government have—that this is a priority, that needs to be followed through with actions rather than words, including operating frameworks.
