Proceeding contribution from Joan Ruddock (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 24 February 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Energy Bill.

Energy Bill

From a sedentary position, the hon. Member for Tunbridge Wells (Greg Clark) says that we should get on with it, and that is certainly what we want to do. We want to have these plants up and running: that is the very heart of this Bill, and I thank the hon. Member for Northampton, South (Mr. Binley) for his remarks. He is absolutely right about the competition, as we need to make sure that the UK remains a leader in this field.
