Proceeding contribution from Chris Huhne (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 27 May 2010. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Energy and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Energy and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
I certainly agree about the importance of the EU in tackling environmental issues and the climate change agenda. We would not have made as much progress as we have internationally on climate change had it not been for the efforts of the EU. We also need to ensure that our energy supplies are secure—we will be putting energy security at the heart of both our energy and security policies.
