UK Government's Energy Policy
I did not realise the right hon. Gentleman was moving so swiftly off electrification and on to another subject. To take him back, will he remind the Committee how many centimetres of railway line in Wales he electrified when he was Secretary of State? What assessment has he made of the line speed restrictions between Cardiff and Swansea? Also, is it now Labour policy to be for electric-only trains and to say that bi-modal trains are not the way forward, in which case, if there were a breakdown in the Severn tunnel, will he explain how the trains will get into Wales?
