Proceeding contribution from Lord Hain (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 March 2011. It occurred during Grand Committee proceedings (HC) on UK Government's Energy Policy.

UK Government's Energy Policy

I will finish my point. The right hon. Lady and the Minister raised the point about cost. The potential developers have told me that, if they have the active backing of the Government, especially through the planning process, they are confident of raising the £20 billion to £30 billion necessary to build it from sovereign wealth funds and other investors, who would see it as an absolutely sure-safe investment option.
