Proceeding contribution from Hywel Williams (Plaid Cymru) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 March 2011. It occurred during Grand Committee proceedings (HC) on UK Government's Energy Policy.
UK Government's Energy Policy
There is of course another way to store electricity. The prime example in the UK is in my constituency, in the Dinorwig pumped storage scheme. It can produce sufficient electricity to supply Manchester for three hours at the flick of switch—within eight seconds. If we had more such facilities, we might be able to store electricity more efficiently.
