Proceeding contribution from David Davis (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 August 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Public Disorder.

Public Disorder

I commend the Prime Minister for his decision to take action on gangs, but I want to raise another issue with him. He rightly told the House that the whole country was moved by the dignified words of the father of Haroon Jahan yesterday, who made those comments against the background of some ethnic tension and managed to calm the situation. There is at least a risk that evil-minded people will try to use these conflicts to raise ethic tensions and conflicts further. Will the Government take action with the leaders of communities to ensure that that is not done and is prevented?
