Proceeding contribution from Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 August 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Public Disorder.

Public Disorder

I simply do not accept this determinism that changes in the economy mean automatic changes in the levels of criminality. Indeed, the figures for the last recession disprove that. We should be clear in this House that it is criminals who are responsible for crime. It is an individual act, and we should hold people responsible for their acts. Let me take this opportunity to pay tribute to the Welsh police forces that gave great support to police forces across England.
