Proceeding contribution from Lord Freud (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 4 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.
Welfare Reform Bill
My noble friend asked for some reassurance in the area of tax credits. Under the universal credit, it will effectively become part of the responsibility of the DWP and therefore become overviewable and reviewable by SAC. Whereas I might have been a little coy in giving some other assurances today, I can absolutely uncoy about this one.
