Proceeding contribution from Andrew George (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 25 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Public Bodies Bill [Lords] (Programme) (No. 2).
Public Bodies Bill [Lords] (Programme) (No. 2)
I am grateful to the right hon. Gentleman for that comment. I have been too generous in taking interventions, including his, which has taken a great deal of time. The Government are aware that people are very unhappy at the loss of the independent rural voice. I hope that my argument gets a warm reception, and that I do not need to press the House to a Division on either of the two new clauses because the Government indicate that they will give ground.
