Jobseeker’s Allowance (Mandatory Work Activity Scheme) Regulations 2011 (SI 2011/688). Lords debate on a motion of regret that the House has been given insufficient information to understand the policy objectives of the Regulations, how the scheme will work and whether claimants' propspects of obtaining employment will be improved. Disagreed to on division (122 votes to 155). Debated with a motion to annul the Regulations, and a motion of regret that "the House has been given insufficient information to understand the policy objective of the scheme; to determine how the scheme will work; and effectively to assess whether the outcome will help claimants to improve their prospects of obtaining employment", and calls on Her Majesty's Government to make new Regulations when these concerns have been met. Both motions not moved.
