Iraq: Detainees

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, on what issues and on what dates his Department asked the Attorney General for legal advice on matters concerning the UK's detention policy in Iraq from October 2002 to April 2009.

Answer

By long-standing convention, observed by successive Governments, the fact and substance of advice from the law officers is not disclosed outside Government.
