Project Al Yamamah

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department holds retained or closed public records from 1980 to 1992 relating to the Al Yamamah programme or the Saudi British Defence Cooperation Programme; and if he will publish a schedule of such records, including file reference, covering dates, access status and the reason for retention or closure.

The Ministry of Defence does retain documents relating to Al Yamamah and the Saudi British Defence Cooperation Programme (SBDCP). However, these remain classified on grounds of national security and international relations.
