The Government will bring Gambling Impact Assessments (GIAs) into force in due course and is currently considering what preparations and guidance will be needed for their introduction, to enable local authorities to use them effectively. As this guidance is crucial to the introduction of GIAs, we do not expect to bring GIAs into force until the guidance is ready. We do not anticipate bringing GIAs into force ahead of summer recess, but expect them to be in place by the end of the year.

Departments are required to consult when there is a statutory requirement to do so or a common law duty. Alternatively, in the absence of a legal requirement to consult, a department may engage in voluntary consultation where to do so assists in good policy formulation and development.
Defra regularly engages with the National Farmers Union and a range of other stakeholders for these purposes. This reflects this Government’s commitment to engage with and listen to the farming community, and the recommendations made by Baroness Batters in her independent Farming Profitability Review.

The Government is working closely with industry and regulators to ensure the resilience of jet fuel supply and the continuity of commercial aviation operations. There has been no evidence of changes in flight schedules or short notice cancellations due to fuel shortage in the UK. We are engaging with industry partners to monitor supply and demand, and to develop contingency options should disruption arise.
Private jets are used for a variety of reasons such as medical and emergency response, specialised industry logistics, government and military use as well as corporate and leisure flights. They account for only a small proportion of overall jet fuel use - in the region of 1-1.5% of fuel - so any restriction would likely have only a limited effect in conserving fuel for commercial aviation.

A UK-Israel military cooperation agreement, which incorporates a range of defence engagement activity, was signed in December 2020. Whilst the UK Ministry of Defence regularly reviews cooperation with Israel, the agreement remains extant.
