Vetting Review

Question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the Vetting Review into the National Security Vetting system and the Peter Mandelson case will consider how financial interests, business appointments, advisory roles, close personal relationships and third-party financial links are collected and assessed for Direct Ministerial Appointments and Privy Counsellors with access to sensitive material.

Answer

The Terms of Reference for the review into lessons for the National Security Vetting system from the Peter Mandelson case are publicly available.

Sir Adrian Fulford has been appointed to lead the review, and it is for Sir Adrian to determine the information required to fulfil his Terms of Reference.
