Since 2017, British International Investment's (BII) healthcare investments have been guided by a health impact framework [https://www.bii.co.uk/en/emerging-markets-investment/evaluating-the-impact-of-private-providers-on-health-and-health-systems/] which focuses on investing in private-healthcare providers that have a positive impact on the overall healthcare system. BII's investments are subject to its Policy of Responsible Investing.
In India, BII investment has supported the delivery of quality care to more than 2 million low-income patients including in underserved parts of central and eastern India. In Kenya, BII investment supports healthcare clinics and pharmacies that provide for more than 430,000 patient visits per month with over half of patients coming from low to very low-income groups. BII investments also provide access to a medical consultation with a nurse for KES 300-600 ($2-$4).

The G20 Third Tourism Working Group Meeting in Srinagar was attended by a delegation of UK officials based in India. This decision was in line with the high priority the UK places on the G20 as a forum to address pressing global challenges. Prior to attending, safety and security considerations were among factors that were taken into account.
The UK Government's position is clear that any allegation of human rights abuse is deeply concerning and should be investigated thoroughly, promptly, and transparently. Our long-standing position is that it is for India and Pakistan to find a lasting political resolution to the situation in Kashmir, considering the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The UK is committed to defending freedom of religion or belief for all and promoting respect and tolerance between communities. We condemn any instances of discrimination because of religion or belief, regardless of the country or faith involved. Reports of violence against religious minorities are a matter for the Indian police and legal system. The British High Commission in New Delhi and our Deputy High Commissions across India regularly meet with religious representatives and official figures. Lord (Tariq) Ahmad, Minister for South Asia, also regularly speaks with the High Commissioner of India, and freedom of religion or belief forms part of that dialogue.

Property or land disputes in India are private legal matters. We encourage anyone experiencing these difficulties to seek legal advice by engaging with an independent local lawyer. They are best placed to advise on their legal rights and avenues of redress.
Anyone who is a victim of fraud is advised to report the matter to the local police, as they have the jurisdiction to investigate. The FCDO has no authority to intervene or become involved in property disputes or cases of fraud.

British nationals can continue to use the Government of India (GoI)'s regular/paper visa application services for all visa categories. We regularly raise our concerns regarding our exclusion from the list of countries eligible for e-visas with the GoI. The previous Foreign Secretary raised this matter with the Indian External Affairs Minister during her visit to India in March. We continue to lobby the GoI on this issue, while respecting it is for them to determine the types and validity of the visas it offers. We will update India Travel Advice with the latest information if there are any changes in India's visa rules.
