I start by saying that my thoughts are with all those injured in the rail collision last Friday. I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of the driver of the Corby to St Pancras train. His family have requested privacy, and we should all respect that. I send my deepest sympathies to them at this awful time. My thoughts are also with those injured in the appalling attack in Edinburgh, which appears to have been motivated by anti-Muslim hatred. Let us be clear: in this country, an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. We will not stand for it, and the perpetrator will face the full force of the law. Let me commend our emergency services, who responded to both incidents with outstanding bravery and professionalism in very difficult circumstances.
One of the greatest privileges of leading this country is meeting our armed forces, celebrating their work and marking Armed Forces Week, and I want to thank them all for their dedication, their courage and their sacrifice to protect our way of life. This morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others. I shall have further such meetings later today.
What assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of planned SEND reforms on the ability of local authorities to effectively cooperate with multi-academy trusts on the delivery of local area SEND improvement plans.
What assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of planned SEND reforms on the ability of local authorities to effectively cooperate with multi-academy trusts on the delivery of local area SEND improvement plans.
Through the national consultation and local special educational needs and disabilities reform plans, we are ensuring that multi-academy trusts play a key role in SEND reforms. New national inclusion standards will create shared expectations for all schools around inclusive education, and the SEND reforms make clear our expectations that all multi-academy trusts and schools work in partnership with local authorities to ensure the needs of every child in an area are met.

The Government believes in the power of grassroots sport, and is committed to supporting grassroots clubs, which are important for communities across the country.
Our Arm’s Length Body, Sport England, annually invests over £250 million of Lottery and Exchequer funding to promote grassroots sport and physical activity.
We have also committed £400 million into grassroots sport facilities, and we are working closely with the sports sector and local leaders to develop plans for this investment.

What recent discussions he has had with Cabinet colleagues on the potential merits of providing further support to businesses with the cost of energy.
Supporting businesses with the cost of energy is a priority for the Government. We have expanded support through the British industrial competitiveness scheme and increased discounts on electricity network charges, and we stand ready to act if market conditions worsen due to the middle east crisis.

From 1 May 2026, the new tenancy system provided for by the Renters’ Rights Act applies to all private tenancies.
As such, all tenancies are now periodic and it will no longer be possible to agree a fixed rental term or create a tenancy with an end date or break clause, and any existing terms of these types no longer apply.
My Department engaged extensively with stakeholders from across the sector when developing the reforms in question and an Impact Assessment of the legislation was published.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of the withdrawal of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate liquid solution from the medicine market on to patients with adrenal insufficiency.
The Department is aware of the discontinuation of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 100mg/1ml solution for injection and we continue to work with industry to find a longer-term solution.
Hydrocortisone sodium succinate 100mg powder remains available for patients. We have issued comprehensive management guidance to healthcare professionals on how to manage patients while supply is disrupted. The guidance highlighted the differences between the two hydrocortisone injections. It also included resources for patients and healthcare professionals on how to administer the alternative hydrocortisone injection.
We also understand that the Addison’s Disease Self Help Group have also published information on this discontinuation to keep patients informed along with resources for patients on how to administer the alternative hydrocortisone.

This Government believe that Britain’s national interests are strengthened, not diminished, when we work with like-minded countries. That is why next week I will be joining other G7 nations coming together as democracies to discuss how we shape tech and AI to work for all, and why I will be proud to showcase the best of Britain’s AI strengths on the world stage at London Tech Week in June.
