Extraordinary Rendition Flights
- Question
- Whether they will alert police and Customs officers if they have reasonable suspicion of the likelihood or possibility that aircraft owned or chartered by the Central Intelligence Agency, passing through British airports, may be conducting illegal renditions.
- Answer
-
The Government are clear that the US Government would not render a detainee through UK territory or airspace without our permission. I refer the noble Lord to the Foreign Secretary’s Written Ministerial Statement of 20 January (Official Report, col. 784W) in another place.
