Departmental Older Workers

- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many people aged over (a) 55 and (b) 60 years were recruited by his Department in 2007-08; and what percentage in each case this was of the number of new recruits.
- Answer

Nine new recruits were aged over 55 of which four were aged over 60. This accounts for 2.4 per cent. and 1.0 per cent. of new recruits respectively.
