Proceeding contribution from Dominic Grieve (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 23 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HC) on Government of Wales Bill.

Government of Wales Bill

My right hon. Friend is right. That is a serious issue, which is likely to continue to grow. Indeed, it has become more serious in the past eight years since devolution and it will continue to be a subject of debate. For the purposes of this debate, I shall concentrate on the impact of these measures on the people of Wales, for whom we have a major responsibility, and we will continue to have that responsibility even after part 3 is enacted. If part 4 were ever enacted, however, our responsibility would shift considerably.
