Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill

My Lords, I thank all noble Lords who spoke in the debate. If it seemed to go a little wide of my amendment, perhaps I can assure the Minister that the subject would have come up at length anyway. I was intending to mention it under my next amendment and I am sure the noble Lord, Lord Cameron of Dillington, was planning to do the same under his amendment. I am sure the time we spend on it now will be regained in future amendments. I associate myself with the comments about the seriousness of the issue. I look forward to hearing from the noble Lord, Lord Carter, who is very experienced in these matters, how we might influence a matter that seems difficult to influence. But as far as this amendment is concerned, I thank the Minister for his reply. I am somewhat reassured.
