Amendment. No. 116 refers to"““material (in whatever form) which portrays children involved in sexual activity and which is produced for the purposes of giving sexual gratification.””" I note that the Minister has used the word ““gratification””. In some recommended reading of the Department for Education and Skills and the Department of Health there is an extremely graphic description of a sexual relationship between a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy, both of which depict children and explicit sexual activities. One might argue that edification is somehow better than gratification. I feel that the involvement of children in this sort of activity should be deplored, full stop, and not only if there is gratification.
