Proceeding contribution from Stephen Ladyman (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 6 November 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Road Safety Bill (HL).

Road Safety Bill [Lords]

That is exactly what the Opposition are asking me to do—to acquiesce in bad law. I am telling the right hon. Gentleman what the law requires us to do. We have to work as fast as we can within that law. The Lords amendment would be illegal.
