Proceeding contribution from Mark Francois (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 20 February 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Planning-gain Supplement (Preparations) Bill.
Planning-gain Supplement (Preparations) Bill
You are right to call us to order, Mr. Speaker, but it is a pleasure to bring a smile to the hon. Lady’s face. As I was saying, there is no guarantee that a community in Scotland that is asked to accept a development—perhaps a large-scale housing development—will receive any reciprocal benefit. In theory, a housing development in Glasgow could raise funds that would then be redirected to the Outer Hebrides.
