Proceeding contribution from Dari Taylor (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 19 February 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HC) on Banking (Special Provisions) Bill.
Banking (Special Provisions) Bill
I am grateful, as I was disappointed not to be able to speak on Second Reading. I was in and out of the Chamber because of the demands of my diary. The hon. Gentleman is right to say that we want clarity, but the Chancellor's words yesterday provide it. The memorandum of understanding says that all operational decisions will be made by the board with no interference from the Government. The commitment that the hon. Gentleman seeks is already there.
