Counter-Terrorism Bill
I will make a little progress, and then I will give way again. We have listened to those who say that until now there has been no need to extend the period beyond 28 days. That is why the legislation ensures that there can be no extension of pre-charge detention until and unless the evidence supports it—until there is a ““grave exceptional terrorist threat”” that might require a longer investigation time.
