Proceeding contribution from Lord Teverson (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 19 June 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Energy Bill.
Energy Bill
moved Amendment No. 36B: 36B: Clause 37, page 27, leave out lines 29 to 33 and insert ““any grant which is payable out of public funds and awarded under or by virtue of an Act of Parliament, except a grant awarded to support or promote research and development.”” The noble Lord said: I regret that my noble friend and colleague Lord Wallace of Tankerness cannot be here, but he will wish to pursue this further on Report. The amendment is a useful simplification of the Bill and I would be interested to hear the Minister’s reaction to the amendment standing in my noble friend’s name. I beg to move.
