Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 30 June 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Pensions Bill.

Pensions Bill

The Minister was very open, but he does not have the answers to the questions. We are bringing to this Committee the concerns expressed to us, in particular by employer groups. It is not acceptable that the Minister stands there and says that they have not worked out the answers and that it is unfair to criticise them for not having done so. Day by day, the Minister exposes that this Bill is not ready to come through the parliamentary process because too little is understood. We will not pursue this again today but we will return to the theme. Clause 48, as amended, agreed to.
