Proceeding contribution from Baroness Hamwee (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 9 February 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [HL].

Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [HL]

I will not attempt to extend the discussion on this, but it will be useful for those outside the Committee who have been asking about it to see the Government’s response. It may be that we will want to come back to knitting the Sustainable Communities Act more closely into this legislation. The noble Baroness said that a short statute is not necessarily easy to implement. I cannot resist saying that a long one is not necessarily easy either. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 165ZC withdrawn.
