Postal Services Bill [HL]

My Lords, I thank the noble Lord, Lord De Mauley, for his support. The amendment was drafted solely with a view to providing greater clarity and protection for service users. Indeed, Amendment 60 has been laid with the view of ensuring that all service providers offer the same level of independent complaint procedure. I am still firmly of the view that such a provision would give consumers a level of protection and confidence that an independent complaints process would be available to them if required. I am encouraged by the Minister’s response. Although the consultation does not go as far as I would like, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment at this stage. Amendment 59 withdrawn.
