I beg the Minister's pardon; I apologise for what I said, in that case. We must be ever careful of eroding civil liberties. The deputy chief constable of Hampshire said a couple of years ago:""We are sleepwalking through the lobbies of Parliament whilst Britain is slipping toward Authoritarian Rule."" That is pretty tough stuff from a deputy chief constable. I believe that the Bill in its present state will add fuel to the fire, and we might well see a further slip towards authoritarian rule. I hope that much of it is removed in Committee, but at this stage I will vote against it.
