New clause 9 (Power to suspend provisions of Act in case of emergency) negatived on division (5 votes to 15). New clause 10 (Right to one day's leave per week) debated and withdrawn. Government new schedule 1 (Unfair Dismissal of Striking Workers - Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992) agreed to. Bill, as amended, to be reported (Bill 70).
