Airports: Body Scanners

- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their assessment of the evidence from independent tests of the safety of X-ray airport passenger scanners.

The risks from the scanners have been assessed by many independent international bodies, including the UK Health Protection Agency. Tests have concluded that the dose received from being scanned is far below the allowed levels in the UK. In fact it is less than that received from natural sources in under two minutes at airline cruising altitude.
