Proceeding contribution from Stewart Hosie (Scottish National Party) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 4 July 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Finance (No. 2) Bill.
Finance (No. 2) Bill
It is true that the amendment that I tabled in Committee contained no specific proposal to alleviate rural prices. However, I specifically took on board the hon. Gentleman’s comments in proposed new section (1AB)(b) to the Hydrocarbon Oil Duties Act 1979 in new clause 6. That new paragraph refers to"““providing specific fuel duty reductions targeted at fuel sold in sparsely populated areas””." I therefore hope that he will reconsider his previous sentence.
