Proceeding contribution from Clive Efford (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 31 October 2006. It occurred during Legislative debate on Crossrail Bill.

Crossrail Bill (Carry Over)

I want to express my gratitude, and that of my constituents, to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State. His announcement leaves the door ajar for us to strengthen our case for a station at Woolwich. In addition, I want to pay tribute to the members of the Select Committee. They listened closely to the people who represented our case, and responded accordingly. However, my right hon. Friend told me earlier that the idea of a station at Woolwich was not included in the original Crossrail plans.
