Proceeding contribution from Anne Begg (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 16 January 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Pensions Bill.

Pensions Bill

I still do not know how many years are involved, so perhaps the hon. Member for Yeovil will intervene again to clarify whether it is 10, 15 or 20 years. If it is 10 years, it means that anyone who has lived in Britain for 10 years and then moves anywhere else in the world will qualify for a full citizen’s pension in the UK—even though they spent only 10 years living here and are no longer living here. [Interruption.]
