Proceeding contribution from Lord Rooker (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 27 November 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Climate Change Bill [HL].
Climate Change Bill [HL]
My Lords, the committee has not been set up. There is a shadow secretariat. The committee will be appointed following public consultation and consultation with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments. It will then take a shadow form until the Bill gets Royal Assent. The persons themselves are not there yet. There is a shadow secretariat—but I do not want any confusion about this.
