Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his oral statement of 29th April 2002, 384 c668, on Israel, what risk assessment has been made regarding the protection of the deployed supervisory wardens from radical groups in the West Bank.
Answer

Mr. Ancram: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his oral statement of 29 April 2002, Official Report, column 668, on Israel, what risk assessment has been made regarding the protection of the deployed supervisory wardens from radical groups in the west bank. [54622] Mr. Straw: An assessment has been made of the monitors' security situation in Jericho. I judge this to be satisfactory in the circumstances, though it is plainly not possible to eliminate all risk. Measures have been put in place to enhance the level of protection afforded to the team. They are kept under constant review.
